Note: Registration in one of the categories above is required for participation in the post-conference cultural program. Participants from developing economies may apply for a 50% reduction in registration fees. A list of such countries according to the World Bank can be found here on the Psychometric Society website.

Each conference registration includes the following

All conference events will be held Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort in Hot Springs, Arkansas (USA). The resort is located on Central Avenue, home of the tree-lined, historic Bathhouse Row which is filled with spas, dining, craft breweries and shopping. 

 

Oaklawn Resort has a storied history as one of the premier Thoroughbred racetracks in America and hosts live racing from December to May. With a Forbes Recommended resort hotel, Arkansas' only Forbes four-star spa - The Astral Spa, an event center with meeting space, a 24/7 smoke-free casino, several dining options, and live entertainment, Oaklawn is a world-class tourist destination where you can stay, play and get away.

 

The resort is steps away from Hot Springs National Park, the first designated national park in the U.S. Oaklawn is just minutes from two of Arkansas' most scenic lakes, Lake Hamilton and Lake Ouachita, where visitors can enjoy a wide variety of outdoor recreation. Oaklawn is the perfect place to stay and play while you explore everything the region has to offer.

PRESENTATION SESSIONS

Conference presentations will take place in Oaklawn Resort's 18,000 square-foot multi-purpose event center adjacent to the hotel. The event center has advanced audio visual technology and onsite staff to ensure a successful presentation experience.

 

Conference presentations will take place on Friday and Saturday, May 30 and 31.

Each morning will begin with virtual conference sessions (with speakers  presenting via Zoom) from 7:00 - 8:30 AM local time. In-person presentations will be scheduled throughout the rest of each day.

LODGING

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort for GASI attendees at a discounted rate of $135/night for a double room.​The special conference rate applies for two days prior and two days post conference. To book at the special rate you must:

  1. Register for the conference (you'll receive the discount code once you register).​

  2. Book your room no later than April 28, 2025.

getting to the conference

Arriving by Air 

For ground transportation from Clinton National Airport in Little Rock to the conference, we recommend booking with Intercity Transportation. You can easily book online (one-way or round-trip) by filling out a reservation request form on this page. Just enter the airport as your pickup location and Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort as your destination.

One-way transit cost:  

  • 1 passenger = $110

  • 2 passengers = $62.50 each

  • 3 passengers = $50 each

  • 4+ passengers = $40 each

​

  • Please Note: If you don't see Little Rock to Hot Springs listed among the pre-packaged transport options, don't worry! We have confirmed that they DO service these two locations.

Arriving by Car

Please follow GPS directions from your starting point to Oaklawn Resort.

 

Parking

Upon entering the parking lot, drive forward to valet parking. If you do not wish to valet, drive around the hotel to B Lot where you will park then enter the hotel via the side entrance (by the pool).

Excursion Details

We will leave the Oaklawn Conference hotel at approximately 12:30 PM on Sunday, June 1. We'll travel for approximately one hour by bus to the museum in Little Rock.

 

We will be able to tour and explore the museum from about 1:30 - 4:30 PM.

 

We'll then return by bus to the Oaklawn conference center arriving at approximately 6:00 PM. (Note: some attendees may wish to continue on to the airport for flights home rather than returning to the conference center).

 

Total cost for bus and admission is $50.00 per person. Seats are limited. First come, first served.

GASI is no longer accepting abstract submissions or requests for travel scholarships/grants. We hope you will join us as an attendee in 2025--or check back when the 2026 conference destination is announced!

Call for Abstracts
GASI Conference Scholarships & Grants

A limited number of travel grants of up to $1,000 USD are available on a competitive basis for students and faculty members.

 

Student Travel Scholarships

To qualify you must be:

  1. Currently enrolled as a student at the time of application, and

  2. Enrolled full-time if you are an undergraduate student or at least part-time if you are a graduate student.

 

Student status will be verified before awards are granted. Travel awards granted for abstracts with multiple student authors will be shared by all students who present at the conference. Students submitting abstracts co-authored by faculty members (professors) must present solely at the conference. Preference will be given to first-time Scholarship recipients and to students submitting an abstract as sole author (versus abstracts with multiple authors). Additionally, only applications received by the original abstract submission deadline of November 1 will be considered.

Faculty Travel Grants

Two travel grants are available on a competitive basis for full-time faculty members who are presenting at GASI for the first time. Faculty must be first author on the abstract (i.e., the lead conference presenter) to qualify. Only applications received by the original abstract submission deadline of November 1 will be considered.
